Parking in Beverly

Residents

Beverly residents who live downtown are eligible to receive annual parking permits for each of their household vehicles, free of charge. These permits will allow residents unlimited on-street parking in the residential “red zone” areas within the downtown Beverly parking district. The addresses that are eligible for a parking permit are marked in yellow on the Resident Parking Map. Residents are required to create a parking account and apply for their permit online using the Parking Portal. Please read below for more details about Downtown Resident Parking Permits. To apply for a permit, use the “Get A Permit” button below.

resident parking permits

  • Downtown resident permits allow residents of the City of Beverly unlimited parking in the red zone of the Downtown Beverly Parking District.

  • Downtown resident permits do not allow for unlimited parking anywhere else in the downtown parking district.

    • If you have a resident permit and park in a public parking lot, during enforcement hours, you must pay for your parking at a public lot pay station.

    • If you have a resident permit and park in on-street parking (green or purple zones), during enforcement hours, you must pay for your parking at an on-street pay station.

  • The red zone is clearly marked on downtown streets with red parking signs that read “2 Hour Parking / Except by Permit”.

  • The red zone is displayed in red on the Downtown Parking Map.

  • Parking spots are available on a first-come-first-serve basis.

    • A downtown resident permit does not guarantee residents any particular parking spot at any particular time.

  • Parking permits are issued electronically and are linked to the license plate number of the vehicle. Paper permits are not available.

  • Downtown resident permits are valid from April 1st through March 31st each year.

  • Downtown resident permits must be renewed before the annual expiration date in order to remain active.

    • Permits of vehicles that are registered in the City of Beverly are eligible for automatic renewal.

    • Permits of vehicles that are leased or are not registered in the City of Beverly are not eligible for automatic renewal. Those residents will need to reapply for their resident parking permit each year.

  • Proof of residency may be required when applying for a resident permit if your vehicle is leased or is not currently registered within the City of Beverly.

    • Proof of residency attachments may include: a utility bill from the past 45 days or a copy of a driver’s license. Both require that the name of the applicant and the downtown Beverly address be displayed.

    • Proof of residency attachments must be uploaded during the application process in order to be approved for a downtown resident permit.

  • Downtown residents with a parking account will have the option of getting up to three 2-day guest parking passes per month.

    • Guest passes can be obtained online using the Parking Portal and following the same steps used to get a permit.

  • During a snow emergency parking ban, no parking on any street is allowed, including red zone streets. Permit holders are not exempt from penalty for parking in the red zone during a snow emergency parking ban.
